Luv deluxe by Cinnamon Chasers has one of my favorite music videos ever made, it’s directed by Saman Keshavarz an extremely talented 25 year-old writer/director that we’ll be seeing much more in the future. I’ve been watching this video once or ten times every few months since it came out a few years back and awesomely it took first place at SXSW music festival for best music video in 2010.
Every time I watch it I want to go at full sprint out the door on adventure, granted the theme of this video is not necessarily all positive but, inspiring nonetheless. The first time I watched it was before I went to Burning Man for the first time and I basically wanted to just go full gypsy for the rest of my days. Well this video, listening to Home by Edward Sharpe and maybe a little Jack Kerouac all played a role. But, thankfully I haven’t gone full beatnik yet.
Mostly, I like this video because how it tells a story; there are no words to the song, no captions, nothing except aesthetics and sound. Keshavars has something like
“voice” when we describe a writer for his or her ethos or style. Though there are no words, expressions though visual language. It’s helpful noting video’s or any unconventional expression like this, that are a bit different, to remind yourself and everyone around you that there’s more ways than one to get things done, to tell a story or just be creative.
Here’s another of Saman Keshavarz’s-
